New Opportunities

Another blessing brought to us this year, was a new job opportunity.  I was graciously offered a position with Joni and Friends International Disability ministry as the Project Coordinator of Dallas/Ft. Worth.

If you are not familiar with this ministry, here's a little information...
Joni Eareckson Tada (with me above), the founder of JAF Ministries, had a diving accident when she was 17 that left her a quadriplegic with little mobility in her upper shoulders.  She has an amazing story that was told to me and inspired me as a child.  In 1998, my mother and I went to volunteer at their family camp and have been back each summer to serve the families we have grown to love.  I consider it pure joy to now be working for the ministry here in Dallas.  I would love for you to learn more about Joni and Friends and would be happy to sit down with you over good food and drinks and tell you all about it. Let's do this

I'm not a woman of many words, but pictures have always stolen my attention.  I have a feeling my blog (which I'm NOT very savvy with...yet) will have more pictures than words.  Since the majority of our time and thoughts are centered around our new purchase, you will find many updates, renovations, and projects in the next couple months.  I hope to post about other things that bring joy to my life, including food, photography, family, friends, and serving the Lord.

That being said, let's do this from the beginning...
My husband, Ross, and I closed on an adorable 3 bedroom, 2 bath, 1950's home.  We have so many ideas in mind to make our house on Belaire feel like home.  Hopefully this will be a good source of the progress we have made.

Here we have the very last home we looked at on our hunt for a home.  From the moment we drove up, we both had a very very good feeling.

I apologize for the picture quality, as most of my pictures have been taken from my phone.
The front of the house has a good sized garage and a beautiful bed of painsy's lining the front.  The backyard has a beautiful sweetgum tree that is visible from the double french doors leading into the home.

We hope to execute a back patio come spring time.  Volunteers are ALWAYS welcome!
